All right, let's see if I can keep the trend rolling . . .  2015 in review!

1. What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
In no particular order: went on a business trip, technically got a minion, traded in a car, moved by myself.  I now have my own place and my own bills for the first time in my life.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My usual resolution is "Suck less, do more."  I think I did far less this year than I'd intended, and certainly less than I'd hoped.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Eldest sibling had her baby on July 8th, and while I'm still vaguely disappointed they went with the boring name instead of the fun one, at least I don't have to conflate my character with my nephew.  He's a happy baby, so he may yet escape the worst of our genetics.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
I stayed in the US this year because my passport expired, but I got very close to getting shipped out and about several times.  Before year end, I had my new passport back, so I expect that I'll be on the move more next year.  I did have a business trip to LA, which let me stop over and see Jen and her husband in Phoenix.

6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
I think I would like the chance to travel for myself, and have an actual vacation that's not just me seeing my family.

7. What dates from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 4th-5th: the shell-game airplane shenanigans and moving.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't really feel like I've done anything that qualifies as an achievement.  I have done things that were significant for my life but they were not the type of things to be proud of.  They were necessary and they were carried out.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't do nearly half the things I should have done.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing new, at least.  Spent October/November dealing with dental issues that frankly sucked, but they're more or less resolved.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably the lease on the Aerie.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Mews are still awesome people, and Boss Lady has been a trooper through some tough times.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Work's HR, I think, on other people's behalf.  Rrrgh.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Down payment on the used car and setting up the new flat.  Very little need for new furniture, which was a lucky break.  I actually have multiple regular bills now, between rent/car/internet/electricity, which takes some getting used to, but it's nothing I can't handle.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Nothing?  I did have a close call with a new fandom over the summer, and I closed out the year with Flidget dragging me into the Rivers of London series, so that's not all bad.

16. What song will always remind you of 2015?
Never ask me what year a song came out because I will be utter pants at remembering.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Worse but still fighting the good fight with my brain.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same, but some of the old clothes are starting to fit again.  (Or at least they did before the holidays. . .)
iii. richer or poorer? Keeping level, which isn't half bad considering I bought a car and destroyed the Christmas budget (thanks, family.).

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing and art, exercise and archery.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Putting my foot it in it/being a porcupine.  (I didn't even have to change this from last year!)

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family, and half of it spent in retreat reading manga.   My family was so very My Family this year.

21. What Journal users did you meet for the first time?
None

22. Did you fall in love in 2015?
That would be a no.

23. How many one-night stands?
Not my jurisdiction.  (Imagine the Lestrade macro here.)

24. What was your favorite TV program?
I guess anime counts?  Aldnoah.Zero was the one series I had a brush with fandom on.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
It takes an awful lot for me to hate someone, so thankfully that's a no.

26. What was the best book you read?
I feel like I've probably read better fanfic than books this year, but I'd be hard pressed to give you a favorite.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I guess . . .  Johnny Hollow?  I've been using Pandora more.

28. What did you want and get?
A lovely antique mirror, and a tiny Christmas tree for my flat.

29. What did you want and not get?
Inspiration?

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I think the only movies I saw were Big Hero 6 and Star Wars:TFA; both were fun.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Nothing much -  I have hit a landmark year, and it is awkward to consider on multiple levels.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A better capacity for handling humanity, probably.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?
Same as before, but with an injection of I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Aperture swag.

34. What kept you sane?
Words: from friends, from the professionally published, from fandom, and a few of my own.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
P. sure that's a strikeout this past year.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I guess . . . watching the Syrian immigration issues, the on-going police situation (between brutality and the expected terrorist responses), the trainwreck that the presidential election promises to be already.

37. Who did you miss?
Old friends, my mother and the family dog.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I haven't really expanded my social circle too much, except at work; I am sort of amused one of my engineers is a true cinnamon roll.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2015.
The only one who can ever fix your problems is you.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Another day, another door.
