Christmas Crackdown
Dec. 21st, 2003 08:14 pmFour days to go!
You can tell it's close to Christmas because everyone is heading home- Flidge to Florida, all the college kids back to their respective residences. That, and it's time to check lists and make sure no one was missed. I unfortunately have a few holes, but. . . it'll be fixed.
One of those holes is you, Flidge *poke* Name your scene, and it will be tackled. Or at least, botched. I suspect first on your list to be Nocte versus Snape- and I'll get to it, as soon as I can come up with a decent battlefield. ("What do you mean by 'active demonstration?'" "Nocte means y' can show off t' de students how useful y' potions be in an actual fight." "Not only are you braindead, your ideas are pointless. Potions is a science, an art, not a weapon." "Nocte knows y' passionate 'bout y' art, but he tryin' t' make de chiles see dat dey c'n be practical, t'." "They are very practical already, Nocte. You can stage your puppet show without my help. Take your dramatics back to your coffin where they belong." "Y' wound me, Monsieur Snape!" "Good, I'm glad to know something can penetrate your ego.")
At some point down the line, I'll take an extracurricular trip to. . . New Jersey. Gah. A las, the nearest fencing equipment store of any use to me is located there. Pretty sad that that's the closest one- it's harder to find an SCA supplier than a tack store. While it might be just as expensive as a trip to a tack store, my parents actually seem to be inclined to humor my desire for a pointy object and trappings to go with it.
As it is, I get to go riding tomorrow with the sibling. ^^ I'm going to suck, since it's been the better part of a month since I last rode, but it's better than nothing. I'm happy to see my four-legged boys again- especially the one dubbed the walking couch.
The sickness is in the process of being conquered, so for now, it's like I have the lingering remains of a cold. I can deal with that far better than the previous situation. ^^ Now what's left to conquer is writer's block. . . Pity there isn't a pill for that.
There is, however, large quantities of chocolate, caffiene, and techno. Something will come up.
