windlion. . . Oh my, I haven't updated in awhile.
Right. I'm still alive! I survived my 19 credit semester. I'm never doing that again, rest assured.
I went to South Africa! I studied fuzzies. I got to do awesome things like catch tiny furry things in Sherman traps, ride in a bakkie, almost fall out the back of it into a river, go flying in a microlite (Read: lawnmower engine with hanglider wings. AWESOME., see a bull elephant within arm's reach, so on and so forth.
Long story short: really cool trip, some cool people, some not so cool profs, and some good memories along with some bad ones. I could wish I wasn't the odd man out, but I'm not going to let that get in the way of the good that /did/ happen.
I also visited Flidget, as she mentioned, and was unfortunately pretty sick and out of it the entire time I was there. -_-; Hopefully I will be far more coherent when I arrive there in September- for I am to study in Queen Mary U of London! ^^
Until then, I am doing my best to bring my bank balance up instead of down so I can pay off the bloody plane ticket and have some way of paying for food come September.
I should get in the habit of actually writing in my lj, because the less I write, the more out of practice I get. I should also get /out/ of the habit of writing about my real world life, because hell, I wouldn't want to read about my exploits at Macy's. (The idea of writing "I opened two accounts today!" as my subject line is truly frightening. Mind, you might be entertained by lines like "I sold two lace corsettes with garters and a nightie to a 79 year old woman!," but such things are blessedly rare.)
Work is all right, but it wears me out pretty fast. I have no energy to write or play games when I get home, both of which are worthy things I should be doing.
I /have/ been arting intermittently, which is good for something, at least. The Gaian guildies are clearly getting the better end of the deal, as you can see.
My latest game is Jak and Daxter II, which has also spawned my latest plot-bunny. Given the size and quality of the fandom, I'm really tempted to give it a shot- especially since this bunny is rather persistent.
The other two fic ideas knocking around in my brain are a Harry Potter Ronfic, which I started considering before book six, and haven't done anything substantial with since, and a bizarre Batman/Coreverse crossover featuring the entire Batclan and Phantom's Coven. (Poor Phantom also appears in the HP-fic; he is officially my crossover bitch.)
If anyone is exceptionally interested, I may post quotes of each in the future; for now, I think I have blathered quite enough for one entry to reestablish my presence.
(Oi, Flidget, where art thou? If we keep missing each other like this, I am going to end up spamming your journal with plot posts. Do not say I didn't warn you. XD)

Date: 2005-07-31 10:40 am (UTC)Brithday celebrations took place this weekend. I got home late Friday and had to leave early Saturday, and then because transport is currently such a mess it was too much of a headache to come home last night, so I stayed over and made it back this morning.
I'll be around the rest of today, though. ^^
