Otakon?

I know this is a long shot, but is anyone headed to Otakon with potential floor-crashing space?  I am totally willing to pay my way, but dropping $400 on a room for just me for the weekend is downright stupid and not happening.

I have to figure out in the next few days if I should definitely put in for vacation time or just let it go. . .  I know I'll save a lot of money if I don't go.   And awkward interactions with strangers, not really good incentive.

We're looking into going to Otakon, too, and are in the same problem of trying to find floorspace.

We MIGHT have a solution but I need to get in touch with someone first, and it might be a little out of the way?

As near as I can tell, there are still some rooms open in the inner harbor hotels--except I was looking mostly at double-occupancy rooms just because there was no point in looking at the larger ones by myself. XD;;; Staying inside the city, the Wyndham was about $500 for the weekend; split across three people it'd be ~$170 a pop. There are the cheap sketchy Motel 6s just outside the city for about half that price, but that'd be a pain to drive in and find parking every day. (And believe me, when Otakon's in town, inner harbor parking gets hard to come by.) I don't know what your guys' budget is- I'd mostly want to try and keep my hotel costs below $200 for the weekend, because I know gas/parking is probably going to be close to $100. >_< Thank you for looking, and let me know! <3

I was just chatting with Rissi about this, she's saying "GO FOR IT" but I want to do a quick check on a few of the hotels that are a little bit closer.

Also it'll be four of us all told, because of you, Rissi, G-cat, and myself, if that's okay.

I will see what I can find and probably get back to you this afternoon! Is there a good way to reach you outside of DW, or would you prefer that?

Ooh- Hey, if we can find an open room, I am all for it! I remember we all met at PAX East the once. :D (I'm not sure what the availability or cost is like for the larger rooms or if we'd have to get a larger room? But across four people it'd be more affordable anyways! I am totes fine with literal floor space.)
